The 24th Evac is reduced to only 25 beds.  During July and August there were only ten nurses, one anesthetist, and only a few doctors.  MAJ Tom Hovey, Acting Chief nurse, (who was a member of the advance party in July 1966) was one of the officers in charge of the transition between the U. S. Army and the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. (Source: Lest We Forget II.  Barnet and Foss.)
