Summary - October 1966

October continued with construction efforts. Many of the enlisted personnel with medical MOSs work two to three days per week at the 93rd Evacuation Hospital, then came back to the 24th to work on the various construction projects.

Sometime in October

An enemy rocket attack hit the nearby U. S. Army ammunition dump at Long Binh resulting in an unexploded 175 mm US artillery shell landing in the 24th's compound. (Source: Lest We Forget)
